What we do
Creating events of circus, spectacle and street theatre with community participants has been core to the work of Let’s Circus since our inception. We have trained volunteers for mass participation at events such as Kynren, Great North Run, Stockton International Riverside Festival and have collaborated with companies such as Compagnie Carabosse (France), La Fura del Baus (Spain) and Compagnie Off (France) on major festival finales. We’ve trained adults to fly from cranes, students to walk on stilts, children to dance and act, mentored hobbyist fire performers towards professional productions, and facilitated programmes that have lead to the nationally cited development of the circus sector in the North East of England. Wether it is working with first timers r working with serious enthusiasts, our mission is the same – to harness energy towards active, meaningful engagement, and direct enthusiasm towards dynamic, playful, enjoyable end-results. In 10 years we have developed community arts projects across the UK and Europe, and taken international teams to generate projects in Australia, Kenya and South Africa.
