Science Circus Spectacular
The Let’s Circus Science Circus Spectacular has been around for Aeons! Well not quite, but at least a decade!
In 2000 our ringmaster Steve Cousins graduated as a scientist and ran away to join the Edinburgh International Science Festival’s ‘Outreach Team’. With Science Theatre and workshops he toured Scottish schools and educational institutions, before bringing his love of circus into educational theatre. The Science Circus Spectacular has since appeared in museums and science venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cambridge, Sydney and at least two Newcastles (upon Tyne and NSW).
Bringing real showmanship and a real knowledge of Science together, The Science Circus Spectacular can be produced as a solo, duo and ensemble show and even comes with it’s own option of a circus sci-deshow booth ‘The Science of Floss’.
The show answers the big questions that no-one else ever really considered to ask.
What did there Solar System’s first rocks and Candy Floss have in common?
Were the dinosaurs really farted to death?
How are juggling, mathematics and piano all connected?
The show is aimed at curriculum levels of KS2/3 – upper primary to lower secondary, but has content aimed at all ages.
The content of the show supports a workshop programme where young people and adults can put the fundamentals of physics to the test, creating their own physical experimentation towards successful results!
